IPL 2022 | Khaleel Ahmed reaches 100 wickets in T20 cricket

Khaleel Ahmed reached the 100-wicket mark in T20 cricket during the Delhi Capitals' (DC) match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Brabourne Stadium on Thursday. Khaleel reached the three-figure milestone after dismissing the well-set Aiden Markram for a 25-ball 42, and finished with figures of 3 for 30.

While batting first, Delhi Capitals batter David Warner scored an unbeaten 92 against his former team and Rovman Powell played an aggressive innings of 67 off 35 balls. Both the batters helped the side cross the 200-run mark, which eventually proved to be enough.

SRH could only manage 186 runs in the chase and lost the game by 21 runs. Apart from Khaleel, Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers, with 2 wickets under his belt.

After this win, Delhi moved up to the fifth spot in the points table, while Sunrisers Hyderabad slipped to sixth. Both teams have gained 10 points after ten games, but Delhi capitals have a better NRR than SRH.

DC will meet the Chennai Super Kings in their match at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on May 8.
