  • Azam Khan Should Either Quit Cricket Or Else Transform Himself Into A Cricketer Says Aqib Javed

‘Azam Khan should either quit cricket or else transform himself into a cricketer,’ says Aqib Javed

Fitness was not a highly spoken part of cricket a decade or more ago. However, times have changed now. People have realized the importance of fitness and agility and are therefore demanding cricketers to be fit as well.

While many cricketers have accepted the challenge and come up on top, there are some who have had to bear the consequences of not meeting the required standards. Azam Khan is one of the players who has had to suffer due to these added expectations.

The Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter had a reputation as a big hitter who could clear the boundary with ease. He was brought into the Pakistan setup and was expected to be a great finisher. However, the 23-year-old was soon dropped from the Pakistan team without getting many opportunities.

“I just played seven balls in international cricket,” he said. “I made mistakes, and I’m trying to overcome them. My goal is to represent Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup,” said the youngster. He would surely be looking to up his game and make it to the international side once again.

However, another thing which has gone against him is his weight. Many former cricketers and fans have said that he needs to lose weight if he wants to make it to the international level. Former Pakistan pacer Aqib Javed was very clear on his judgement about the youngster. “Azam Khan should either quit cricket or else transform himself into a cricketer,” he told ARY news.

Azam Khan would be eager to prove his critics wrong and comeback in grand style. He made a name for himself through the Pakistan Super League and can once again use that league as a platform to make his comeback.
