Rajat Patidar, the RCB captain for IPL 2025, was all set to miss at least two games due to an injury before the suspension of the league. However, the one week suspension has given him a chance to recover, and there are high chances that Patidar might not miss any game of IPL 2025 according to the report from ESPNCricinfo.
Rajat Patidar Recovering Well From Finger Injury
Rajat Patidar is currently recovering from a finger injury and in his absence, Jitesh Sharma was all set to lead RCB against LSG. Patidar suffered an injury at the Chinnaswamy during the game against Chennai Super Kings on May 3. The report further adds that the RCB captain was advised to refrain from training for 10 days before the next assessment of his injury.
Thus, if the tournament resumes on May 16 as suggested by some reports, Rajat Patidar would get ample time to be fit and ready for their game against LSG. However, there are also chances that he might be rested for that game as the management would not want to risk him keeping in the mind the IPL playoffs and India A tour of England.
Concern Over Availability Of Overseas Players After IPL Resumption
RCB have done well this season with 16 points in 11 matches. They are all set to qualify for the playoffs, and if the tournament moves to three venues, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai, RCB will also get home advantage.
However, there is still no clarity over the availability of their overseas players if the tournament resumes next week. According to some reports, Josh Hazlewood might not comeback from Australia and it would be a big blow as he has been their best bowler with 18 wickets.
