Pakistan opening batter Imam-ul-Haq has said that the series against Australia was a huge learning curve for him.
In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on their YouTube channel, the top order Pakistani batter reflected on Australia's historic tour of Pakistan earlier this year. The visitors played three Tests, three ODIs, and one-off T20I.
"In the Test series, the Australians gave us a rough time and played fantastic cricket, and as a player, I gained a lot from being put under constant pressure," Imam-ul-Haq said.
"When more and more topsides will visit Pakistan, it will be an opportunity for individuals as well as a team to showcase and improve their skill set," he added.
Talking about his brilliant run of form, Imam stated that he has been working very hard behind the scenes in the domestic circuit, and now he is finally reaping its rewards.
"I have been working really hard on my game in the nets and in domestic cricket and reaping the results now," he concluded.
The left-hander made his comeback recently in Test cricket against Australia, where he scored centuries in both innings of the Rawalpindi Test. He finished the Test series as the fourth-highest run-scorer. The 26-year-old moved to No.3 recently in the ICC ODI rankings after smacking two centuries and 89 in a three-match series against Australia. Imam top-scored in the series with 298 runs at an average of 149.
