In a dazzling display of talent, 21-year-old cricketer Sameer Rizvi stole the show in the Under-23 State A Trophy match against Tripura, where he unleashed an explosive batting performance that had everyone on the edge of their seats. His unbeaten double-century of 201 runs off just 97 balls was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving the opposition in disbelief.

Rizvi’s innings were a breath-taking spectacle, adorned with 13 crisp fours and a staggering 20 sky-soaring sixes that lit up the field like fireworks. Arriving at the crease in the 23rd over, he transformed the match single-handedly, guiding Uttar Pradesh to a colossal total of 405 runs.

The knock has been a poke to IPL franchises' eyes as Rizvi was picked up by the Delhi Capitals for just INR 95 lakh in the mega-auction. His salary faced a sharp drop from the whopping INR 8.4 crore that the Chennai Super Kings forked out for him the previous season.

Often likened to the legendary Suresh Raina for his aggressive style, Rizvi faced a rocky start in the IPL, managing only 51 runs in five innings. CSK's decision not to retain him for INR 4 crore seemed like a blow, but he’s risen from those ashes with fire in his belly.

Rizvi's recent performances have been nothing short of sensational. Alongside his jaw-dropping double century, Rizvi also notched a remarkable 153 in one match and an unbeaten 137 in another. To say the least, each knock justifies Delhi Capitals’ investment in him, and his 'purple patch' might prove to be a real table-turner for the franchise in IPL 2025.
