Hampshire progress to the Finals Day after thrashing Warwickshire by a margin of 104-runs

In the ongoing edition of the Vitality T20 Blast, the Hampshire Hawks have defeated the Warwickshire Bears in the second Quarter-final, progressing to the Finals Day in Birmingham scheduled on July 16.

The crowd at Warwickshire were silenced after witnessing their team thrashed by the Hawks by a colossal margin of 104 runs.

With Hampshire winning the toss and opting to bat first, the crisp hitting of Ben McDermott (61 runs off 36 balls) and Joe Weatherley (47 runs off 31 balls) propelled the Hawks to an impressive 186 for six.

Danny Briggs and Jake Lintott, the Bears' primary spinners, took some uncharacteristic hammering (a combined six overs for 76), but skipper Carlos Brathwaite scalped four wickets for 31.

Though the Bears had reached 200 seven times in the group stage, they struggled to get going against the Hawks.

After losing three wickets inside the powerplay, the Warwickshire Bears' innings crumbled, with the middle order collapsing immediately. As the match result suggests, they were bowled out for 82 in 13.3 overs by top-tier bowling headed by James Fuller (4-17), Nathan Ellis (3-4), and Brad Wheal (2-9).

With the Hawks advancing to the Finals Day, the squad will look forward to making their mark on the glorious Edgbaston turf on July 16.

Brief Scores:

Hampshire Hawks: 186/6 in 20 overs (Ben McDermott 61, Joe Weatherley 47; Carlos Brathwaite 4-31) beat Warwickshire Bears: 82 all out in 13.3 overs (James Fuller 4-17, Nathan Ellis 3-4) by 104 runs.
