All England players have been fined 20% of their match fees for failing to bowl 20 overs in the stipulated time against India in the fourth T20I in Ahmedabad.
The tourists were docked 20 per cent of their match fees for falling short of the target by one over as per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
England skipper Eoin Morgan accepted the sanction imposed by the match referee Javagal Srinath and hence the cricketing governing body did not have to carry out a formal hearing for the matter.
England lost the fourth T20I by 8 runs after failing to chase down a target of 186 runs in 20 overs. The Eoin Morgan-led side was restricted to 177/8. Shardul Thakur scalped a three-for after giving away 42 runs in 4 overs while Hardik Pandya and Rahul Chahar who came in as a replacement for Yuzvendra Chahal picked up a couple of wickets each during the course.
For England, it was Ben Stokes who top-scored with 46 for England while opener Jason Roy notched up 40 off 27 balls.
Earlier, India rode on some sublime batting from Suryakumar Yadav to post 185/8 in 20 overs. Yadav who was playing his second match for the team scored 57 in 31 balls. Apart from Yadav, Shreyas Iyer too chipped in with 37 off 18.
Fast bowler Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowler for the visitors after he bagged a four-wicket haul.
The five-match series is levelled at 2-2 with the decider to be played on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
