The Day 2 of four Division 2 matches of the ongoing County Championship was played out on July 12, Tuesday. Here is an end-of-the-day report from each of those four matches.

Resuming Day 2 at 407, hosts Sussex extended their first-innings total to 588. Tom Alsop smashed 150 while Ali Orr, Delray Rawlins, Oliver Carter and James Coles all piled up handy half-centuries.

In response, the Leicestershire batters reached 159-1 at stumps. Trailing Sussex by another 429 runs, opener Rishi Patel and number three Louis Kimber will resume their innings on Day 3 at 67* and 91*, respectively.
