Bumrah and Chahal best bowlers in India: Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell, in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, has opened up on some critical aspects of the upcoming Indian series. Powell has been in great touch this year, racking up a century against England this year.

Powell treating the India series as a big opportunity

West Indies T20 vice-captain Powell said they will take their chances to prove their worth as a side. However, he added that West Indies' young team needs to play well and fight against a strong opposition like India.

He said, “Think it will be an opportunity to upset India because they are the most favoured and are a fancy team. They are the better team at the moment, if I am to be honest. It provides an opportunity for us as young cricketers in the West Indies side to stake a claim and make a name against the best cricketers of the world. I am looking forward to facing the Indian side”.

Powell further mentioned, “Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal. They are the best crop of bowlers in India, and definitely, you want to test yourself against the best.”

India to tour West Indies for ODIs and T20s

Men in Blue will take on the Caribbean side in 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is from 22nd July. The ODI series will take place in Trinidad, whereas the T20I series will be in Tarouba, Basseterre and Florida.
