In a significant development, England's promising batter Harry Brook has claimed his career-best position in the recently updated ICC men's Test batter rankings. 

The International Cricket Council updates its rankings every week. As the apex body announced the updated list of batters in Test cricket, Brook found himself at his career-best spot on the list. 


Brook surpasses Kohli, Rohit and Babar in Test rankings

Harry Brook has enjoyed stellar success in England's ongoing three-match Test series against West Indies on home soil. 

The explosive batter, who has showcased his fielding prowess in the series, has slammed 195 runs, including a hundred and a fifty at an average of 65 and a blistering strike rate of 84.

His phenomenal ton in the second innings of the recently held Trent Bridge Test helped him earn significant rating points and jump four places up to number three in the updated batter rankings. 

Kane Williamson remains at the top, while veteran batter Joe Root has consolidated his second with a clinical 122-run knock in the Trent Bridge Test. 

Among other English players, Ben Duckett (up six spots to 16th), Ollie Pope (up eight places to 21st) have made significant gains, while Shoaib Bashir rises 18 spots to 53rd following his spectacular five-wicket haul in Trent Bridge Test.
