Bangladesh's Shoriful Islam Joins LPL 2024; Replaces Star Pakistan Pacer In Kandy Falcons

In a major development, Bangladesh's ace speedster Shoriful Islam is all set to join the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL). The 23-year-old left-arm pacer will play for Kandy Falcons, replacing Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Ali, who has been ruled out of the injury due to injury concerns.
Shoriful will play alongside his fellow Bangladeshi teammates Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Towhid Hridoy, who are already part of the competition. While Taskin plays for Colombo Strikes, Dambulla Warriors have secured the services of Hridoy and Mustafizur.

Shoriful remained unsold during the LPL draft process. Hence, he was available for selection, and Kandy Falcons roped him in to make the full use of it.
The bowler, meanwhile, has already confirmed he is set to travel to Sri Lanka today.
Apart from LPL, Shoriful will also play in the upcoming Global T20 League in Canada, which will begin on July 25. There, he will play for Bangla Tigers Mississauga, where Shakib Al Hasan will be his teammate.
Kandy Falcons will be next in action on July 6, against Colombo Strikers at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
