The schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be announced very soon, likely within the next 1 to 2 days. The tournament is planned to take place from September 8 to 28, after India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh settled their issues during a recent Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka.

Eight teams will participate in the Asia Cup 2025. These are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. This will be the 17th edition of the tournament, held in September 2025.

India And Pakistan Likely In Same Group

Sources say India and Pakistan will probably be placed in the same group, which means they could face each other multiple times in the tournament. All previous problems that delayed the tournament, including concerns after a terror attack in Pahalgam, have now been resolved.

The ACC meeting, which included representatives from all 25 member countries, was key to confirming the event details. Indian cricket officials joined this meeting virtually, with Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI vice-president, representing India.

Full Schedule May Be Released Over the Weekend

Now that everything is cleared, the Asia Cup is back on track after years of controversy and debates. Reports suggest the schedule may be released partly on Saturday, July 26, and fully by Monday, as reported by Cricbuzz.

The tournament is expected to be held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is hosting the event, is finalising the schedule. Some minor changes might still happen, but the dates will mostly stay the same, running through the second and third weeks of September.

After the ACC meeting on July 24, the BCCI said they just need to finalize some details with sponsors before making the official announcement. This will be done through the ACC’s official channels.

The Asia Cup will feature 19 matches, with the final likely on September 28. The tournament will follow the T20 International format, and because India and Pakistan are in the same group, they could meet at least twice, once in the group stage and again in the Super 4 stage, with a chance for a third match if both reach the final.
