Andrew Symonds, 46, passes away in a tragic car crash

Another devastating breaking has surfaced from Australia; the former international cricketer and two-time World-Cup winning player Andrew Symonds has left for his heaven abode on late Saturday (May 14) night. 

The 46-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Townsville, Queensland, as reported by Courier-Mail. 

According to a statement notified by Queensland police, "Symonds was in a single-car crash at about 10.30 pm Saturday night. He was driving on Hervey Range Road near the Alice River Bridge when his car left the road and rolled," the police said.

The police statement further cited that the paramedics tried to save him but were unable to.

"Emergency services attempted to revive the 46-year-old driver and sole occupant, however, he died of his injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.”

The former Australian was a fan favourite all across the globe, but especially in India. Symonds, who played over 200 international games scoring close to 7000 runs and scalped 165 wickets, was part of Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers during his stints in the Indian Premier League. 

Moreover, the all-rounder was part of two World Cup-winning squads where he played a massive role in helping Australia sustain invincible dominance worldwide. 

 Symonds, apart from his swashbuckling batting style, was well-known for bowling both off-break and medium pace, which made him one of the rarest cricketers. 

The heavenly abode is the third Australian cricket legend to suddenly pass away this year following the tragic deaths of Shane Warne and Rod Marsh in March.
