The two-times IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed Aaron Finch as the replacement for Alex Hales for the upcoming edition of the Tata IPL.
The Australian limited-overs captain Finch is known as a dynamite batsman up the order and has played some outstanding knocks for Australia. Finch has stockpiled 10444 runs at an average of 33.9 and a strike rate of almost 140 in 347 t20s in a career spanning over a decade. However, Finch has been inconsistent in his IPL career so far as suggested by his stats in the most luxurious t20 league. In his IPL career, Finch has scored 2005 runs from 87 games at an ordinary average of 25.38 and a modest strike rate of 127.71.
Nevertheless, Finch has a plethora of experience as he has represented 8 different teams such as Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Pune Warriors, SunRisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Punjab Kings and Royal challengers Bangalore in his IPL career. Also, he is a fantastic tactician and therefore is expected to share his valuable insights by being an integral part of the leadership group of KKR.
Earlier, the English opener Alex Hales withdrew himself from the IPL owing to the bubble fatigue, which came as a big blow for the KKR. The addition of an experienced player like Finch is certainly a commendable job by the Kolkata-based franchise.
