The stage is set for the second T20I of the three-match series between Bangladesh and West Indies at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown. The visitors stunned hosts in the first game by notching up a seven-run win in an edge-of-a-seat thriller and would be looking to continue the momentum and grab a rare T20I series win.

The first game was a roller-coaster of a ride for the fans of both the teams as the momentum kept swinging from one team to another throughout the encounter. There were some good performances in both the sides and the visitors would be especially happy with the team effort they displayed in the first match.

Soumya Sarkar played a handy knock of 43 at the top of the order, but the form of Litton Das is a big concern for Bangladesh. He is the captain of T20I side in this series, but has struggled throughout the tour and Bangladesh need him and the likes of Afif Hossain to fire. The failure of top order has been a big issue for Bangladesh over the years, and it is something they need to sort out quickly.

Shamim Hossain displayed good finishing and power-hitting skills which also has been an issue for Bangladesh, and his addition is a big boost to the side. However, the standout performer in the first match was Mahedi Hasan. He scored crucial unbeaten 26 and then picked four wickets with the ball to trigger a collapse of a strong West Indian batting line-up.

Jaker Ali Likely To Retain His Place For 2nd T20I

There is an option of bringing in Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the XI in place of Jaker Ali. However, Ali has done well in other formats on this Caribbean tour and Bangladesh are looking at him as a finisher who can provide some power in the middle order. So, he is likely to play the second T20I with Miraz waiting for his chance.

Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed also bowled well with Mahedi in the last game while Tanzim Hasan Sakib was bit expensive. However, he is a quality bowler and has done well for Bangladesh so we can expect them to go with the winning combination of the first match.
