Kohli, Bumrah & Siraj Out; Prasidh Krishna In? Here's India's Playing XI Vs Netherlands

On Sunday, India will take on the Netherlands in match 45 of the ongoing ICC World Cup at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India have been absolutely magnificent with bat and ball, securing eight consecutive wins in the competition. Meanwhile, despite performing admirably, the Dutch are reeling at the bottom of the points table and would like to finish their World Cup campaign on a high note.

As India have already qualified for the semifinal, they might rest a few key players in a bid to test their bench strength in this dead rubber. We reckon Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav will likely be persisted with, while Rohit Sharma might make way for Ishan Kishan, who featured in the first two matches in Gill's absence.

If Rohit opts to rest for this game, then Kohli will play and vice-versa, as the Men in Blue need a bit of experience in their batting order. As Kishan has been picked as the backup opener, we expect him to replace Rohit if the latter decides to rest. In such a scenario, KL Rahul will lead the Indian team.

Also, we expect India to rest their premier pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, for this match, as they have been playing continuously for quite a while now. Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna will spearhead the bowling attack alongside Mohammed Shami if they are rested.

In another unlikely move, India might decide to rest KL Rahul and slot Ishan in the middle order as their keeper-batter. If this happens, Rohit Sharma will open alongside Gill, and Kishan will make the way for Rahul in the all-important semifinal.

On the contrary, if Virat Kohli is rested, then both Ishan and Rahul will play, and it will be interesting to see who dons the keeping gloves.
