As the dust settles on their victory in the first T20I, Team India prepares to lock horns with Bangladesh in the second of the three-match T20I series on Wednesday, October 9, at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. With the stakes high, India, brimming with confidence after a dominant seven-wicket win, will look to keep their foot on the gas pedal and seal the series.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh will aim to even the score, hoping to revive the memories of their historic win over India in Delhi back in 2019, where they claimed their maiden T20 win against the hosts.

IND vs BAN 2nd T20I: Team Previews

India

Opting to bowl first in the opener, India’s bowlers were sharper than ever, skittling out the Bangladesh for a paltry 127. Leading the charge was left-arm quick Arshdeep Singh, who wasted no time setting the tone. His fiery spell of 3/14 in just 3.5 overs earned him the Player of the Match award as he rattled Bangladesh's top order.

Not far behind, Varun Chakravarthy made his comeback one to remember, weaving a web around the batters with 3/31 in his four-over spell. Hardik Pandya, Mayank Yadav, and Washington Sundar each chipped in with a wicket, showcasing a cohesive bowling performance that left Bangladesh reeling.

India’s reply was all guns blazing, with opener Abhishek Sharma (16 off 7) and Sanju Samson (29 off 19) providing a lively start before falling prey to the opposition. Captain Suryakumar Yadav continued his fiery form, racing to 29 off 14 balls.

Eventually, Hardik Pandya’s composed unbeaten 39, combined with debutant Nitish Reddy’s steady 16 off 15, saw India across the finish line with ease. The Men in Blue will look to put in another dominant performance and seal the series.

Bangladesh

For Bangladesh, it was a game of missed opportunities and rustiness. Openers Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das were sent packing early, while the middle order crumbled like a house of cards.

Towhid Hridoy managed only 12, Mahmudullah fell for a single run, and Jaker Ali scratched his way to eight. Captain Najmul Shanto’s 27 off 25 hinted at promise but lacked the punch to make a difference, leaving all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz to carry the team with an unbeaten 35 off 32 balls. Unfortunately, even Mehidy's efforts were too little, too late.

Bangladesh’s bowlers faced a similar fate, with Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed taking a hammering. Mustafizur Rahman picked up a wicket but leaked runs, while Mehidy’s solitary over yielded a wicket for just seven runs.

The spin of Rishad Hossain was ineffective, as he conceded 26 runs in three overs without a breakthrough. To bounce back, Bangladesh will need to fire on all cylinders, as another individual performance won’t cut the mustard.

IND vs BAN 2nd T20I: Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

The Arun Jaitley Stadium is famed for its dry pitch, short boundaries, and batsmen-friendly conditions, and fans can expect a run-fest under the Delhi lights. The average first-innings score here sits at a healthy 164, and with four out of the last seven games favouring the chasing side, the captain winning the toss may look to bowl first, aiming to keep the opposition on a tight leash. However, the surface's dryness can give spinners something to bite into as the match progresses, potentially making life tough for batters in the latter overs.
