Pakistan take on Bangladesh in a must-win clash of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (October 31). The Asian giants and the Bangla Tigers require a win to keep their diminishing semifinal hopes alive with a defeat for either side set to crash them out of the tournament.

Bangladesh are realistically out of the race already after going down heavily in five consecutive matches and boasting of just a solitary win from six league fixtures. What's at stake for them, however, is a spot in the Champions Trophy 2025 where only top 7 teams at the ongoing World Cup plus hosts Pakistan will get the chance to compete.

For Pakistan, their only chance to stay in the knock-outs contention is to clinch a big win apiece in their remaining three matches. Babar Azam & company are currently sixth and need to make amends for their horrendous spree of losses in the last four games to India, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh Head-to-Head Record in ODIs

Pakistan have historically battered and bruised their Bangladeshi rivals in One-Day Internationals. The Asian giants have lost just five of their previous 38 ODIs played against the Bangla Tigers, winning on the remaining 33 occasions. Home and Away, it has been a rivalry where Pakistan have reigned supreme and are likely to continue in that vein in Kolkata.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh Head-to-Head Record in ODI World Cups

Pakistan famously lost to Bangladesh in the opposition's infancy as a cricket nation at the 1999 edition of the World Cup. It was a heist that proved to be a launching pad in Bangladesh's rise towards Test match status. The next time the two nations battled for World Cup glory was two decades later when Pakistan made amends for their loss in England.
