The stage is set for a grand finale of the Women's T20 World Cup between South Africa and New Zealand. The riveting finale will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, as the world will witness a first-time winner of the T20 World Cup.

It has been an interesting journey for both the sides in the tournament. South Africa pulled off the upset of the tournament when they defeated tournament favourites, Australia in the semi-finals. The win has given confidence to the Proteas women as they will feel confident of winning their maiden T20 World Cup title.

New Zealand, on the other hand finished as the runners-up in the group stage and defeated a confident West Indian side to secure a place in the finals. For the first time in many years, we'll witness an even contest as both teams are gunning to win the World Cup and are equal in almost all the bases. 

However, apart from the two teams, there is a third factor which could decide the fate of the finale - the Dubai cricket stadium.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium: Win the toss, bat first

The Dubai stadiun pitch has a contrasting behaviour in afternoon and night matches. For the afternoon games, the wicket starts to grip right from the word go and batting second becomes a touch easier.

However, the finale will be played at 7:30 PM IST, and under lights it tends to behave differently. Batting first will be a good choice since the ball comes onto the bat nicely and this is where the batters can take advantage of the situation. We have seen so many times that second batting team faces difficulty and often crumble under the scoreboard.

The ball sticks onto the surface in the second innings, and hence, teams tend to bat first at this ground in night matches. Spinners will also come into effect and will decide the fate of the contest.
