The Guyana Amazon Warriors will play against the Barbados Royals in the Qualifier 2 of the CPL 2024. This match will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on October 5 at 4:30 AM IST. 

This will be a do or die game for both teams. The winner of this match will qualify for the grand finale on 7th October against the St. Lucia Kings. The loser of this game will be eliminated from the tournament. 

Guyana Amazon Warriors - Journey So Far

The Guyana Amazon Warriors won seven of their 10 games in the league stage and finished at the top of the table with the best net run rate. They faced the St. Lucia Kings in the Quailfier 1 but lost the game by 15 runs (DLS Method). As the Warriors finished at the top of the league table they will get a second chance to make it into the summit clash. 

Barbados Royals - Journey So Far

The Barbados Royals managed to win five of their ten games while losing their other five matches. They finished at the fourth spot in the points table and as a result had to face the third team in the points table, the Trinbago Knight Riders, in the Eliminator. The Royals won a match that was affected by techncial issues against the Knights in Eliminator and now find themselves fighting for a spot in the summit clash against the Warriors.

How will the Providence Stadium's Pitch Behave?

The pitch at the Providence Stadium looked like a balanced one at the beginning of the leg. However, as the matches went by, it got flatter and started acting in favour of the batters. Out of the last five matches that have been played here, we have seen the team batting first scoring nearly 200 on four occasions. In all the cases, the team defending the target won the game. So, this gives us a fair idea of what to expect from this match.
