In a playful warning, former head coach Ravi Shastri issued a caution for RCB star Virat Kohli and DC captain Rishabh Pant, saying how WPL finals results between RCB-W and DC-W will directly put pressure on the men's counterparts in the impending IPL season.

Women Premier League (WPL) season two entered its final stage earlier today as Royal Challengers Bangalore Women took on Delhi Capitals Women in the finals of the tournament.

While the contest is currently underway, official WPL commentator and former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri mentioned men's IPL stars Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant while suggesting an interesting comparison.

Shastri said the results of the WPL finals between RCB-W and DC-W will put a lot of pressure on the men's counterparts. Notably, both Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers have yet to win a title in IPL in their 16 years of existence.

On the other hand, the women's teams of both franchises have created history by qualifying for the finals of the WPL tournament, and one of the finalists will win the first title for the respective franchise.

Thus, Shastri believes that whichever WPL team lifts the title today will cause a lot of pressure on the men's team to emulate the same in the impending IPL season

"I will tell you one thing: the winner of today's match will put a lot of pressure on their men's teams. Watch out, Rishabh Pant, watch out for Virat Kohli," Shastri said on air.

The former head coach mentioned DC captain Rishabh Pant and RCB star batter Virat Kohli to issue a word of caution.

DC and RCB have been a part of IPL since its inception. While the two teams played multiple finals, both failed to cross the finish line. And now that the women's team is able to attain glory, undoubtedly, the pressure to live up to the bar will eat up the men's teams in the IPL.
