India’s biggest T20 festival is on the way, as the IPL 2025 is coming up in grand style. The tournament is coming up with several surprises, and fans are excited for another thrilling season. But before stepping into the upcoming edition, MI fans are still in worry.

After sustaining an injury in the last Test against Australia, Jasprit Bumrah is still out of cricket actions. As the marquee tournament nears, fans are eagerly waiting for an update on the pacer. With the new season on the horizon, MI’s head coach, Mahela Jayawardene, has now dropped a major hint about the star pacer’s recovery.

Jayawardene’s Massive Hint On Bumrah’s Fitness

After having an outstanding outing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Jasprit Bumrah ended the series with a massive heartbreak. In the last Test match of the Test series, the star pacer sustained a back injury and since then, he has been out of the cricket action. His misfortune didn’t end there. His recovery woes forced him to miss the entire Champions Trophy 2025.

The ace pacer is a crucial member of the Mumbai Indians squad. As there is still uncertainty about his availability in the upcoming IPL 2025, fans are eagerly waiting for an update about him. Before stepping into the season, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene gave a massive hint on Bumrah.

“He is still at the NCA and is being monitored on a day-to-day basis. He is recovering and is in good spirits, hopefully, he can join the team sooner,” he said.

MI Will Face CSK Without Hardik Pandya

After taking MI’s captaincy baton last year, Hardik Pandya is set to lead the franchise again this year. But before the season starts, the franchise is set to receive another setback as captain Hardik Pandya will miss MI’s inaugural match with the Chennai Super Kings.

In their last game of IPL 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants, the MI skipper faced a one-match ban for maintaining a slow overrate. Despite this, he is set to miss the match. Suryakumar Yadav is set to lead MI in their first game of IPL 2025.
