'We'll Play Champions Trophy 2025 Without Them,' PAK Pacer Hasan Ali Warns India

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali's bold remarks suggesting that the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 can be played without India have stirred up widespread discussions.

In a recent interview, Hasan Ali reiterated his unwavering support for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and his stance on the 'Will India travel to Pakistan?' issue.

Ali firmly believes that the ICC tournament should be a platform strictly for cricket, devoid of any political influence, especially considering Pakistan's visit to India during the 2023 ODI World Cup.

"If we're going there (to India) to play, then they should come to Pakistan too. A lot of people have said countless times that sports should stay away from politics. But if you look at it from another angle, many Indian players have said in interviews that they want to play in Pakistan. 


So it doesn't mean that the team doesn't want to come; they definitely do. But obviously, they have their own policies, country, and board to consider," Ali said.

Moreover, he also said that, as the PCB chairman said before, the Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan, and if India doesn't want to come, it will be played without them. 

He also added that just because India will not participate, it won't mean that cricket has ended.

"As our chairman has already said, if the Champions Trophy is going to be held in Pakistan, then it will be in Pakistan. If India don't want to come, we'll play without them. Cricket should be played in Pakistan, and if India don't want to participate, it doesn't mean cricket has ended. There are many other teams besides India," he concluded.

According to reports, the Pakistan team has been experiencing a torrid time since their early exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup. The team is expected to appoint a new skipper for white-ball cricket.

The Champions Trophy is slated to take place in Pakistan between February and March 2025, and the PCB remains committed to hosting the event.
