England’s former skipper, Joe Root revealed that Team meeting are no longer a part of the England cricket team’s culture. Under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, the English team prefer having organic conversations rather sitting in a meeting room and talk about the strategies.

Root on Bazball team meetings

"We don't really do team meetings anymore. That's one of the great things about how we do all of our conversations away from the game and just that enjoyment and buzz about spending time with each other," Root had told 'Jio Cinema'.

"We don't have to sit in a meeting room and I think it's more authentic and more genuine when you can have it around a dinner table. Having a coffee in the morning or whatever, I think that's when you do your best learning," he said.

Joe Root holds the record for scoring the most runs in Tests for England in India. However, he hasn’t been to make any impact with the bat in the ongoing Test series. His scores in the four innings he batted read: 29, 2, 5, and 16.

‘We're always going to play how we know’- Joe Root

England’s Bazball approach of playing Test cricket has given them favourable results in the recent past, to say the least. According to Root, his team will continue to play in the same fashion ahead as well.

"Regardless, of the result of the game, we're always going to play how we know. It's what's given us success for a good period of time now. It's what brings the best out of us. We've been in similar situations before."

Riding on impressive performances from England spinner, Tom Hartley, Ben Stokes and his team managed to win the first Test in Hyderabad. However, India fought back in the second Test, thanks to individual performances from the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill.

Rohit Sharma and Co. won the second Test match by 106 runs and, thereby, levelled the series 1-1. The third Test match is slated to take place from 15th February to 19th February at Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium and the fans would be eagerly waiting for Virat Kohli to make his comeback.
