'Virat Kohli Came In My Dreams...' - Wasim Akram Ahead Of IND vs PAK

Virat Kohli’s popularity seems to know no bounds. The cricketer’s batting diligence and sheer professionalism has captivated fans all over the world. Moreover, some of the biggest names from the game also tend to sing endless laurels for the Indian batting wizard.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram is one such prominent personality who has often expressed his admiration for the Indian batsman. Quite recently, the legendary speedster recalled a conversation he had with Kohli, where he claimed that the batting veteran has even appeared in his dreams.

Wasim Akram recalls a conversation with Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli and the rest of his Indian teammates are currently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Ahead of India’s high-octane Super Four clash against arch-rivals Pakistan, former pacer Wasim Akram said that he once told Kohli that he appeared in his dreams. While speaking on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the 2023 Asia Cup, Akram said:

“Today I walked past him and told Virat Kohli that you come in my dreams now. He replied saying 'What do you mean Wasim bhai? I told him because I see so much of you all the on the television screen. I just can't get him out of my mind.”

Wasim Akram acknowledged Kohli’s greatness alongside Pakistan heroes Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. The former pacer described the three cricketers as big-match players who thrive in crunch games like India vs. Pakistan.

“Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and all these match winners, they play this game for these moments – India vs. Pakistan. I mean, for Pakistan everybody wants to perform and vice-versa. This is just made or broken. Not for guys like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam but for young guys. These games are fun. Yesterday, the whole Colombo was buzzing.”
