Without a doubt, Virat Kohli is a true match-winner for Team India who can pose a serious challenge to any bowling lineup. The 34-year-old has achieved some remarkable milestones in his illustrious cricketing career. Moreover, his ability to triumph in critical matches has powered India to emphatic victories over the years.

As the ODI World Cup returns to the Indian subcontinent after 12 long years, the cricketing fraternity will be counting on Virat’s batting masterclass to push India to their second World Cup title on home soil.

In a recent conversation with Cricbuzz, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag reflected on Virat’s ability to score big in big games under pressure situations. The 44-year-old opined that the amount of appetite Virat possesses to score runs is second to none.

He further added that the chase master would go to extreme lengths to make the World Cup count for himself and his fans.

"The hunger Virat Kohli has to score runs, I didn't see that in anyone else. He's been a big match player over the years, he would like to make this World Cup count for himself and for his fans," Virender Sehwag said.

Kohli’s ongoing form with the bat is absolutely paramount in boosting India’s chances of winning the World Cup. Meanwhile, Virat is in the form of his life in recent times. He played a memorable innings against arch-rivals Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup where he scored an unbeaten 122 (94) to annihilate Pakistan by a whopping 228 runs.

In addition, he was also seen in action during the last match of the 3-match ODI series against Australia where he played a formidable hand of 56 (61). As the World Cup draws nearer, the Men In Blue are gearing up to face Australia in their very first World Cup encounter on October 8 at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium.
