Rohit Sharma stands as the most decorated player in IPL history, boasting an impressive six IPL titles. Five of these victories were secured during his tenure as captain of the Mumbai Indians.

Notably, three of these wins came at the expense of their arch rivals, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), in the finals.

While CSK has enjoyed dominance over most teams in the league, they have consistently struggled against the Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians, who hold a remarkable record against them.

When questioned about the captain they fear most in the current IPL season, Mike Hussey, a legendary figure in the CSK coaching staff, confidently declared that CSK fears no one. He subtly alluded to the absence of Rohit Sharma, the former captain of MI who was once a formidable opponent.

"To be honest, this year, no one. There is only one captain who has beaten us in finals, and he is no longer captain. You know who I'm talking about," Hussey during mid-innings chat.

The IPL Clasico-MI vs CSK

The clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has always been the highlight of the IPL, attracting massive viewership due to their large fan bases and star players.

These teams first met in final in 2010, where MS Dhoni's CSK emerged victorious over Sachin Tendulkar's MI. Historically, CSK had the upper hand in knockout matches, despite MI's dominance in group games until 2012.

However, a turning point came in 2013 when Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy from Ricky Ponting. Under Rohit's leadership, MI began to dominate Dhoni's CSK in crucial encounters, winning titles in 2013, 2015, and 2019 IPL titles by defeating CSK in the finals.

Notably, in 2019, Rohit's MI defeated CSK four times in a single season. With Rohit and Dhoni no longer leading their respective teams, the dynamics of the IPL Clasico are bound to change, marking the end of an era in this legendary rivalry.
