In a groundbreaking move, five-time champion Mumbai Indians brought Hardik Pandya back to their setup ahead of the IPL 2024. The experienced Indian all-rounder returned to his former franchise through an all-cash deal of INR 15 Crores between the parties concerned. Meanwhile, Pandya's GT teammate David Miller has opened up on this historic trade ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction.

Speaking to RevSportz, Miller expressed his disappointment at not sharing the dressing room with Pandya anymore in the tournament. However, he also acknowledged the trading process as a distinctive feature of franchise cricket.

Miller said,

"I haven't followed it too much to be honest. He has moved to Mumbai and it's not up to me. Obviously sad not to see him there, but I think that's how it works. You build up relationships over a couple of years and you come and go to different teams. It's just the nature of the game."

Regarding Pandya, the swashbuckling cricketer sustained an unfortunate ankle injury during India's World Cup encounter against Bangladesh and hasn't played a single game since then. He is also set to miss India's upcoming tour of South Africa, as he is yet to recover from the injury.

So, if everything goes perfectly, Pandya might make his comeback during the IPL 2024, which is likely to begin in March.
