Out-of-favour Indian opener Prithvi Shaw grabbed a million eyeballs, slamming a sensational double hundred against Somerset in the ongoing One-Day Cup. Playing for Northamptonshire, the dynamic batter hammered 28 fours and eleven huge sixes on his way through to a belligerent 153-ball 244. He has been a standout performer for Northamptonshire this season, amassing 304 runs at a blistering strike rate of 148.29.

Considering his dream run in the tournament, Shaw was asked if he is thinking about a national recall after the game concluded. However, the swashbuckling Mumbai batter stated that he is focused on enjoying his time in the One-Day cup.

'Not thinking what the Indian selectors may be thinking'- Prithvi Shaw

"Not really thinking what the Indian selectors may be thinking, but I just want to have a good time here, have a good time with the players over here and the support staff. Northamptonshire have given me this opportunity. They're really looking after me. I'm really enjoying it," told Shaw as quoted by India Today.

An incredibly gifted batter, Shaw had a dream start to his Test career, slamming his debut Ton on his first Test against West Indies. However, his career went spirally downwards as soon as his technical shortcomings were discovered by the Australian bowlers during India's tour to Down Under in 2020-21. Since then, he has barely represented India and would like to make his comeback after the World Cup.
