Yash Dayal redeemed himself after a horror 2023 season with GT to win a virtual knockout game for RCB against CSK, and his parents, who stood by him like a rock during a rough patch, couldn’t be happier.

Right-arm pacer Yash Dayal’s IPL journey has been a dramatic film that went through various plot twists. After a strong debut with GT last year, Yash’s career was deemed over after Rinku Singh’s 5 sixes onslaught.

However, RCB got him for 5 crores in the auction, and Yash Dayal capitalised on the second chance by winning a virtual knockout for RCB against CSK last night. He defended 17 runs off the final over despite getting hit for a six on the first ball by MS Dhoni.

That being said, Yash Dayal’s parents were overjoyed to see their son’s resurgence after a tough phase. While talking to PTI, Yash’s mother revealed that the pacer called her last night after the game.

"Kaisa feel kar rahi ho (how are you feeling mom?)," Yash asked his mom as quoted by PTI.

His father, Chandrapal, who played a lot of club cricket in his early days, was supposedly the support system that kept Dayal sane last year.

Chandrapal admitted that he had haunted flashbacks of last year’s GT-KKR game when MS Dhoni smoked a 110-metre six. But his gut feeling told him that Yash Dayal would prevail and that God had been kind to his son.

"That terrifying dream of last season started to haunt me when Dhoni hit that 110-m six off the first ball. But deep inside, I knew something good will happen this time. It's all the result of his hardwork, full credit to him. The God has been kind," Yash Dayal's father said.

Dayal’s dad also revealed that the family hasn’t had time to eat as they have been barged with incessant congratulatory calls since last night.

"I haven't had time to eat with the inundation of calls since morning," he added.

As celebrations continue at the Dayal residence, Yash Dayal’s job isn’t over. He needs to stay focused and get the job done to propel RCB to its maiden IPL title.
