Ishan Kishan has been Hardik Pandya's biggest supporter in the Mumbai Indians team since Hardik returned from Gujarat Titans. After Hardik took over as captain of Mumbai Indians from the fan popular Rohit Sharma, he faced severe criticism and abuse from Mumbai Indians fans at Wankhede.

Unfortunately, Hardik Pandya didn't perform well in the IPL 2024 season, and Mumbai Indians finished last in the point table. However, the champion all-rounder's fortunes changed during the T20 World Cup 2024, where he played a crucial role in India's title win.

Ishan Kishan, the Mumbai Indians opener, confidently spoke about Hardik's redemption, emphasizing that he always believed in Hardik's ability to shine in crucial moments.

"I had a gut feeling that he was saving it all for the World Cup. I will never forget his words: ‘Ek baar performance aa jaaye fir jo aaj gaali de rahe wahi taaliyaan bajayenge (Once I will start performing, those who are abusing me will be clapping for me). This is what he told me when I was also going through a really tough time. He said ‘let people talk, we will do our best and give 100 percent to the game we love,” - Ishan said about Hardik.

This turnaround not only showcased Hardik's hard work and perseverance but also strengthened the bond between him and Ishan Kishan, as the Indian keeper stood with his MI captain through the tough times.

Ishan Kishan is not under a BCCI contract currently due to conflicts with BCCI interests. He was not selected for either India's T20 World Cup squad or the ongoing Zimbabwe tour. Kishan's last appearance for India was during the 5-match T20I series against Australia.
