Cricket world has seen some great rivalries, over the last few years, and one of them was the battle between James Anderson and Virat Kohli.

The two legends of the game have had fierce battles on the field, with both players going hard against each other. Be it the 2014 series, when Anderson made Kohli his bunny, or the 2018 series, when Kohli showed the great Anderson why he is called 'The King of cricket.'

Anderson takes dig at Virat Kohli

Recently, Anderson retired from Test cricket after playing for 22 years. The England great finished as the third highest wicket-taker in the longest format, just behind Muthiah Muralidaran and the late Shane Warne.

Anderson, while speaking to Sky Sports after his retirement talked about his rivalry with the former India captain, Kohli. The swing-master dismissed the legendary Indian batter 7 times in 25 Tests and stated that he felt he could Kohli out on every delivery at one point.

"You go so up and down. Some series you feel amazing and some not quite on it and a batter gets the better of you. Playing against Virat Kohli in the early days, you felt you could get him out every ball and then recently like you can’t get him out at all. You feel so inferior," the legendary English pacer said.

The two modern day greats first collided during the 2014 Test tour, when Anderson dismissed Kohli 5 times in 10 innings. The two then had some great back and forth contest when India toured England four years later, and this time, Kohli brought his best game and Anderson failed to dismiss him even once.

The 2024 England tour of India was dubbed as the finale between the two champion cricketers, but Kohli withdrew from the series due to the birth of his child.
