Netherlands spinner Aryan Dutt has expressed his ambition to dismiss India's star batter Virat Kohli during the face off between India and Netherlands in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, considering it the ultimate gift of the tournament.

Dutt has been one of the standout performers in this World Cup, amassing eight wickets in six matches with an economy rate of 4.96. The 20-year-old's prowess has been evident in his powerplay and middle-overs bowling, where he has showcased his skills and earned the rewards.

During an event, Dutt discussed his desire to secure Kohli's wicket, drawing a parallel to Deepak Patel's role in the 1992 World Cup for New Zealand.

"All wickets are important to me, but dismissing Kohli would be the ultimate gift in this World Cup. While I don't compare myself to Deepak Patel, I'm enjoying bowling on Indian pitches, which are unique and advantageous for spinners with variations," Aryan Dutt said during the promotional event.

Dutt emphasized his self-belief and focus on delivering the right lengths, exploiting his pace and turn to outsmart the batsmen.

"I believe in my strengths and don't dwell on the batters I face. My concentration is on consistently hitting the right lengths and using my variations, speed, and turn to deceive the batsmen,"  Dutt added.

Dutt's opportunity to fulfill his dream will come in the last league match of the ongoing 2023 World Cup when India faces the Netherlands at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on November 12. This is the match where he will face Kohli.

Kohli has been a linchpin for India in this World Cup, accumulating 354 runs in six matches, including a century and three half-centuries. His form has significantly contributed to India's unbeaten run in the tournament. Moeen Ali is the only 'off-spinner' who has troubled Kohli. Otherwise, Kohli always looks in complete control while playing off-spin.

Dutt's impressive control and the ability to generate variable spin have earned him recognition among fans and experts. His tall stature allows him to extract more bounce from the pitch, making him a challenging operator for any batter. The contest between Dutt and Kohli promises to be a captivating battle.

Currently positioned eighth with two victories in six games, the Netherlands must win all their remaining matches and hope for favorable results to progress further in the tournament.
