Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the Cricket World Cup 2023, securing 24 wickets despite missing the first three matches. Shami's remarkable performance not only showcased his on-field prowess but also shed light on his off-field dedication to fitness.

In a recent interaction, Shami opened up about his diet and fitness regime, playfully acknowledging his love for biryani, stating, 

"Biryani Ke Liye Badnaam Hu..." (I am infamous because of biryani). 

The cricketer, who previously lacked a strict routine, emphasized the impact of a serious injury on his approach to fitness. Shami now adheres to a disciplined diet and workout plan, understanding the importance of maintaining peak fitness levels.

Revealing insights into his dietary choices, Shami shared, "I take one meal but I prefer non-vegetarian. Because I do not take any supplements or similar things." The fast bowler emphasized the shift from a lax routine to a more structured approach, highlighting the considerable difference in his fitness levels before and after the injury.

Shami also provided a glimpse into his rigorous workout routine, mentioning his personal best figures,

 "I doubt many people lift more weights than I do. But I do not put it on social media." 

Despite not flaunting his achievements online, Shami's commitment to fitness is evident, with impressive benchmarks like bench-pressing 150 kg and leg-pressing 750 kg.
