The young batter Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) showcased his remarkable talent with an unbeaten knock of 75 runs off just 28 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday (May 8).

Partnering with Travis Head, also a key contributor, the 23-year-old Sharma propelled SRH to victory with their extraordinary partnership of 167 runs, securing a commanding 10-wicket win.

Following the match, Sharma expressed his gratitude to the management for providing him the liberty to play his natural game and for instilling confidence in him.

In a post-match statement, Sharma reflected, "I never imagined achieving such a strike rate in this tournament.

“I mean I would never think that going into such tournament, I would play with this strike rate. A big thank you to the management for giving me the freedom to play this way and showing faith in me," he said

Moreover, Sharma humbly diverted all accolades to his partner, Australian star batter Travis Head, for his stellar performance. He stated,

"100%. All the credit would go to him (Travis Head). The way he starts against all the bowlers, it was great. If you see, the first three balls would go to boundary and it helps me. I just react to the balls after that."

With this impressive victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad has elevated themselves to the third position on the points table, setting their sights on securing a spot in the playoffs.
