On Saturday, May 17, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. It will be their 12th match of the season and a win would see the Rajat Patidar-led side qualify for the playoffs. Ahead of the crucial match, former RCB star AB De Villiers has backed the Men in Red and black to win the trophy.

De Villiers, in the latest events, remarked that he would come to India and watch IPL 2025 final if RCB qualify for the finals. Meanwhile, ABD also stated that he would lift the trophy with Virat Kohli if RCB win the trophy.

"If RCB makes it to the Final, I'll be there at the stadium. Nothing will give me more pleasure than to lift that trophy with Virat Kohli. I've tried that for many many years, " ABD remarked.

AB De Villiers Reflect On His First Impression Of Virat Kohli

Meanwhile, AB de Villiers also opened up on his initial reaction of Virat Kohli and praised the former India captain. ABD remarked that he initially disliked Kohli for his high level of competitive spirit.

“Virat is like one of my cricketing brothers, someone I really grew fond of when I got to know him better. He's an absolute pain to play against, so before I knew him I didn't really like him a lot because he was so good and so competitive, very similar to me with that competitive nature,” he added.

Both AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli played IPL together for the RCB between the years 2011 and 2021 until the former announced his pre-mature retirement from all forms of the game.
