With Rohit Sharma struggling to put up runs in the Indian Premeir League (IPL) 2024 ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup 2024, former Australian captain Michael Clarke brushed off the concern, saying Rohit is too talented to keep missing out for a long time.

The Mumbai Indians captaincy fiasco has taken a toll on Rohit Sharma as runs from his bat have dried up.

Despite a strong start to the IPL 2024 season, Rohit managed to score only 34 runs in his previous 5 five innings, which is causing a lot of distress amongst Indian fans, given the T20 World Cup is just around the corner.

However, former Australian captain Michael Clarke backed Rohit Sharma to regain form much sooner than later. Clarke is of the opinion that Rohit is a little fatigued and perhaps too stressed.

"Rohit, being the wise judge of his own performances, will undoubtedly be disappointed, especially considering his strong start. In my view, he might be feeling a bit fatigued as well. A break to freshen up could do wonders for him, but as the Indian captain and a key player for Mumbai Indians, you're not getting a break. So he's going to have to find form," Clarke said on Star Sports.

Clarke further shared that Rohit Sharma is in the right mind space, and a comeback is just around the corner as for a talented player like Rohit, it's tough to keep missing out for a longer period of time.

"I saw him the other day before the last game batting in the nets when his back was a little bit stiff. He was in a great mood. He's happy, which is a really good sign. He doesn't seem to be struggling with his timing; it's just a matter of getting out. With someone like Rohit, it's only a matter of time before he finds his form again. Hopefully, he stresses less and focuses on his game because he's too talented to keep missing out," he added.

Notably, Rohit Sharma has signed up to lead the power-packed Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled in the USA and West Indies. Hence, his form at the top will be crucial for the team's success.
