Shivam Dube made his first-class debut for Mumbai Cricket Association, appearing in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 7 December 2017. Notably, in his first match he took his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. Moreover, in Mumbai's match against Railways in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, he scored his maiden century in first-class cricket.

After impressing one and all in the domestic circuit, in 2018, Shivam Dube was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the IPL 2019. Following a decent time with the RCB, Dube was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.
However, Shivam Dube came to limelight during his time with the Chennai Super Kings. In February 2022, he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament. So far, for the CSK, Shubham Dube has been a prominent player, especially with the bat.

For his all-round prowess, Dube received his maiden India call-up in 2019. He made his T20I debut for India, against Bangladesh, on 3 November 2019. The same year, he was nemed in in India's T20I and One Day International (ODI) squads for their series against the West Indies. He scored his maiden international half-century in the second T20I, off 27 balls, after coming in to bat at 3. He made his ODI debut for India, against the West Indies, on 15 December 2019.
However, after bowling the second-most expensive over in a T20I match, conceding 34 runs, Dube saw an exit from the national squad. He made a return in May 2024, after being named in the Indian T20I squad against Afghanitan. Ever since then, he has been a constant name for the Men in Blue, especially in the shortest format of the game.
