After reports of Pakistani anchor and commentator Zainab Abbas being deported from India midway through the World Cup 2023 for her old Tweets became true, there was a sense of emotion among the Indians, which left them angered because of the nature of posts which were spreading hatred towards Indians and especially Hindus.

First reported by Samaa TV, Abbas' remarks negatively impacted the people in India, after which she had to be taken out of the country due to safety concerns.

However, she has denied all such allegations and mentioned that she had been a victim of false accusations by people on social media as an Indian lawyer named Vineet Jindal had filed a cyber-crime case against her.

However, many will be astonished to know that it is not the first time that she has been embroiled in a controversy. Dated back to 2018, Zainab had a harsh reply from current Pakistan skipper Babar Azam on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) for her problematic comment.

Babar smashed a century against New Zealand in the second Test in 2018, to which Zainab wrote that she loved how everyone congratulated then-coach Mickey Arthur for his son's century, referring to the Pakistani batter as Arthur's son.

"Well played Babar Azam- loved how the boys went congratulating Mickey Arthur celebrating his “son’s” century."

However, this did not go down well with Babar, who made his intentions clear by making a straightforward reply that she should stay within her limits and must also think before saying anything.

"Think before u say something, and don’t try to cross ur limits!!!"

Now, five years later, Zainab is no stranger to controversy and instead is sure to miss the remainder of the tournament.

As far as Pakistan is concerned, they are coming off a victory against the Netherlands and will next face Sri Lanka in Hyderabad on 10th October.
