After a 3 year century drought, Virat Kohli broke the hodoo with a scintillating century against Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022.

After waiting for 1020 days and 83 international innings, Virat Kohli came back to his century making mode in style. Even he couldn't believe his long wait would come to an end in a T20I., the least expected format where he could get a century.

But the match opened the door for him, when regular captain Rohit Sharma took rest and allowed Virat to open the innings. He played a vintage King Kohli knock, where he took the attack to the opposition. He started run a ball innings where he scored his first 10 in 10 balls, but he reached 50-run mark in 32 balls.

However, once the champion Indian batter got set, there was no looking back as Kohli played an array of strokes and silenced his critics with one of the most clean-hitting ever seen in the T20I format.

It was as if Kohli was relishing the moment as he played without fear and ended his century drought with a six over deep mid wicket region.

He dedicated this special knock to his immediate family, wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika. He sensed the joy of being there for few seconds till it wrenched his heart with pure joy. This innings came right after a 6 week long break before the Asia Cup, which helped Kohli to get back to his usual best. He introspected and understood there's more to life than just cricket.
