A cornerstone of the Punjab Kings (PKBS) bowling attack, Arshdeep Singh's rise in cricket has been an inspiration. Singh, in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), has provided the Kings wickets upfront, claiming six in just three matches.

Ahead of their second home game this evening against the Gujarat Titans (GT), Singh spoke about the atmosphere within the franchise and how he tries to keep the mood light and ease pressure.

With two wins and one loss, the Shikhar Dhawan-led side are sixth in the IPL 2023 points table with four points.

Speaking to the PKBS website, the 24-year-old dwelled on wanting to win games for Punjab and said that local support will add much-needed Punjabi flavour to IPL.

Here's what Singh said

“I’ll try to give my best for the team, wherever they need it. My responsibility is to keep the team environment good. I’m a fun-loving person, so I try and keep the team environment light and make sure that the players enjoy each other’s company.

I performed well and the team won the match also. I’m hoping I can keep performing for the team and winning matches. Very happy for the fan’s support and to be able to come back and play where it all started for me. The venue will provide a lot of local support and add a Punjabi flavor to IPL,"

The left-arm pacer also talked about skipper Dhawan, hailing the out-of-favour Indian opener's nature, dancing, and batting skills.
