With a price tag of INR 17.50 Crore, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has not set the stage on fire for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Green, has managed just 17 runs and picked up one wicket in two appearances for MI this IPL 2023.

Green was picked after an impressive T20I tour of India last year, where the explosive batter slammed 118 runs in three matches. The 23-year-old will hope to turn his fortunes around when Mumbai takes on Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium this evening.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Green said that he is happy to bat anywhere for the franchise while maintaining that No.3 remains his most preferred slot.

Here's what Green said

"I’m absolutely happy to bat wherever the coach wants me to. I am absolutely happy to bat at three - you actually feel like an opener anyway. You have the same intent than probably when opening the bat and when coming at no. 3. So absolutely no stress with batting wherever."

Green further revealed his interaction with MI mentor Sachin Tendulkar, who has been a constant feature in their practice sessions.

"Obviously whenever Sachin talks you listen. He was talking about may be in red ball cricket the bat is slightly closed face to keep balls on ground but in white ball potentially opening up the face of the bat helps you to access balls on the off side and may be the trajectory as well. So that was the talk."

The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai will look to notch up their first points on the IPL 2023 table, having lost both their matches.
