Regarded as India's Mr 360, Suryakumar Yadav played another sensational knock on Saturday night.

Coming at number 4, the swashbuckling batter hammered a scintillating hundred, helping India win the third T20I against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir came up with an interesting suggestion after Suryakumar completed his ton.

Gambhir, an integral member of the 2011 World Cup winning squad, urged India to give the Mumbai batter a chance in Test cricket.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Gambhir opined,

"What a knock @surya_14kumar ! Time to put him in test cricket!"

However, Indian fans didn't quite like Gambhir's proposal, asking him not to mix formats.

The Indian team has committed the mistake of picking a player in a format based on his exceptional returns in another format. As Suryakumar's technical shortcomings have been exposed in ODIs, adding him to the Test squad will be a poor call.

Furthermore, more deserving players like Sarfaraz Khan, Priyank Panchal etc., are not getting an opportunity in red-ball cricket. So, it will be an injustice to them if Surya gets picked ahead of them.

Meanwhile, the Men in Blue clinched the three-match T20I series by 2-1. Next up, they will play a three-match ODI series against the visitors from January 10 to 15.
