Mehidy Hasan Miraz was Bangaldesh's best player in 2022 by a country mile, and he has been duly rewarded with an all-format contract by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), from January to December 2023.
He joins Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, and Taskin Ahmed in the list of players with all-format contracts. Meanwhile, the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shoriful Islam, who were part of all three formats last year, have witnessed a demotion.
Mushfiqur, who retired from T20Is last year, now only has a Test and ODI contract, while Shoriful has a ODI and T20I contract.
Previously, Mehidy had only a Test and ODI contract, but the star all-rounder proved his worth in the T20 format as well and has been promoted by the board.
The 25-year-old scored 637 runs, at 24.50 in 29 games across formats last year, and also picked up 59 wickets, at 30.55.
The all-rounder was particularly effective in ODIs, wherein he scored 330 runs, at 66.00 and 24 wickets at 28.20. For his all-round efforts against India in December last year, he was given the Player of the Series award.
Veteran Mahmudullah has been handed a single format contract - having been cut from the T20Is.
