Abhishek Sharma, yet again, proved that he is one such player who is cut from a different cloth altogether. On a pitch touted to be slower, the swashbuckling opener went behind Delhi Capitals, scoring his first half-century of the season, despite losing two partners cheaply on the other end.
Abhishek amassed his third IPL fifty off just 25 deliveries, comprising nine boundaries and one mighty maximum. During his show at Delhi, the SRH opener took Ishant Sharma to reprimand as he smoked four fours in his single over.
Abhishek shines in reverse fixture vs DC
SRH's condition in the IPL 2023 hasn't been ideal, with the Aiden Markram-led unit not performing upto their potential. Meanwhile, they let the game slip off their hands against Delhi at Hyderabad. However, Abhishek has given his team a blistering start in the revenge game.
Despite losing two partners upfront, the Punjab batter stitched his knock rapidly, playing cricketing shots against pace and spin.
Other SRH batters fail to put a mark
Meanwhile, no SRH batter - apart from young Abhishek - has been proved able to prove their mettle in Saturday's clash, losing their prized wicket on nothing shots. Even after reshuffling their batting order, again, nothing is working for the Orange Army in Delhi.
At the moment, Abhishek is going strongly, but SRH have lost four of their batters.
