Match 3 of the Super Six stage in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 will see Scotland against two-time 50-overs champions West Indies. This will be the first match at Harare Sports Club, as all games thus far in Super Sixes have been played at Bulawayo.

Team Preview

West Indies

One of the pre-tournament favourites, West Indies, have had a torrid time in the competition, winning two matches in Group A and barely managing to make it to the Super Six.

It is an uphill battle for the Shai Hope-captained XI, as they need to win all their remaining encounters and rely on other teams' defeats to claim a ticket to India for the main event.

The main reason for Windies' shoddy performance has been their inaccuracies in bowling. While the batters have looted runs, the bowlers have not responded in kind, apart from Alzarri Joseph, who has looked the most potent.

Scotland

Scotland finished second in the group B points table with three wins and one loss. The Richie Berrington-led side has played excellent cricket, with their plethora of all-rounders doing all the heavy lifting.

The likes of Michael Leask, Brandon McMullen, and Mark Watt have displayed exemplary skills with both bat and ball for the Scottish side thus far. Berrington, apart from leading the side, has been Scotland's leading scorer in this tournament, with 207 runs, while Chris Greaves is spearheading the bowling with ten scalps.

Pitch Report

The track at Harare is batting-friendly and has been seeing high-scoring encounters. After initial help for bowlers, the pitch becomes flat and almost road-like. So, the toss-winner will likely bowl first at the venue.
