Yashasvi Jaiswal may have missed out with the bat in the Asian Games semifinal against Bangladesh on Friday (October 6), but the young Indian cricketer showcased his brilliance on the field during the team's bowling effort.

Jaiswal couldn't continue his dominating streak at the top of the order after producing a majestic century in the quarterfinal fixture versus Nepal. However, earlier in the game, he exhibited his fielding prowess with a terrific catch in the slip cordon to help India get rid of opposition left-hander Zakir Hasan.

As Hasan shaped up to cut a sharp turning off-break from Indian spinner Washington Sundar, he got a leading edge that was flying over the first slip. But a superbly timed jump saw Jaiswal cover the ball effortlessly to complete a breathtaking catch to help India send Bangladesh's danger man back for a duck.

Even though he got an edge, Zakir would've initially felt safe as the ball flew with great speed over the slip cordon. His relief, however, was short-lived as Jaiswal executed the catching opportunity in excellent fashion and sent the left-hander back into the hut.

Jaiswal's catch gave Sundar his second wicket of the over after the off-spinner had also dismissed Bangladeshi skipper Saif Hassan for a solitary run. Sundar backed his stock delivery to propel him past the talented Zakir and was rewarded for it with a thick edge that ended in the hands of the first slip.

The wicket of Zakir firmed up India's grip on the tournament's knock-out encounter as the competition favourites reduced their opposition to 3 down for only 21 and eventually bundled them out for a horrendous 96/9 in 20 overs at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou.

Jaiswal was caught at short fine-leg region for a duck in the first over of the run-chase after he tried to flick an in-swinging delivery from pacer Ripon Mondol. But dominating knocks from skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (40*) and rising young talent Tilak Varma (55*) gave India a comprehensive nine-wicket triumph.
