This series will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Indian cricket, with several talented youngsters likely to make their red-ball debut as a part of the team-transition process. One of those players will be Yashasvi Jaiswal, who will be keen to get a memorable start to his Test career. 

In the pursuit of a dream Test debut, Jaiswal was seen toiling hard in the nets ahead of the first match in Dominica. In a video shared by a certain OneCricket correspondent, the stylish southpaw is seen batting with a stoic technique. 

However, as it seems, it was legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli who made things easier for the Mumbai lad by giving him some priceless advice as he geared up to take on the net bowlers. 

Jaiswal grabbed a million eyeballs during the IPL 2023, where he finished as the fifth most successful batter with 625 runs, including a century, at a fabulous average of 48.07 and a blistering strike rate of 163.61. 

His impressive domestic performance, followed by such a sublime IPL season, earned him a place in the Indian squad for West Indies Tests. The Mumbai batter seems to be the front-runner to replace Cheteshwar Pujara, who was dropped from the Test setup following his twin failures in the second WTC final. 

The first Test between India and West Indies begins on July 12.
