Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli had an exceptional outing in the Asia Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan on Monday, as he led his side to a commanding victory through a scintillating hundred. However, he couldn't sustain his dream run against Sri Lanka, as he was dismissed for just three by promising Lankan spinner Dunith Wellalage. 

After opting to bat first, India got off to a flier, courtesy of fireworks from openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. While Sharma raced to a quick-fire fifty with a flurry of boundaries, Gill was dismissed for 19 by Wellalage in the 12th over. 

Gill's dismissal triggered India's collapse, as the left-arm spinner shell-shocked the visitors, removing legendary batter Virat Kohli for three in the 14th over. The ball, pitched around the short of the good length, didn't come nicely onto the bat, forcing an early shot from Kohli. The batter committed for a back-foot shot, as the ball went in the air, with Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka completing an easy catch in the short mid wicket. 

After Kohli's departure, Wellalage got rid of Sharma, who was well-set on 53. Riding on his bowling heroics, Sri Lanka have reduced India to 104 for 3, with Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul batting on 9* and 5*, as of writing.
