The second ODI between India and England is off to a an exciting start. England won the toss and decided to bat first on a pitch that is pretty good for batting. They are known for their positive approach and the openers, especially Ben Duckett stayed true to that reputation. India needed wickets and the spinners removed both the openers, but then came the stand between Root and Brook.

Harry Brook for the first time on this tour looked solid at the crease and started to find his groove. However, just when it seemed that he would kick on and get a big score, he mistimed one off the bowling of Harshit Rana and Shubman Gill grabbed a stunning catch. It was a fullish slower delivery on off and Harry Brook went for a huge hit down the ground.

Shubman Gill's Special Catch Breaks A Dangerous Stand

However, the lack of pace did not allow Brook to hit the ball off the middle of his blade and it went high in the air between long off and long region. Shubman Gill at mid off ran all the way towards the ball, keeping his eyes on it and then grabbed it brilliantly with both hands, moving to his right.

It was quite a catch and India needed a special effort to break the stand and that is what the Indian vice-captain has produced. England now have two of their most experienced batters at the crease, Root and Buttler and they would have to bat deep to keep England going in Cuttack.
